Here at Abel Tasman Canyons, we’re gearing up for another epic season and are now hiring. Join our professional, friendly, and fun-loving team based in Motueka and spend your summer working in one of New Zealand’s most spectacular outdoor environments.

  • Canyoning Guides (Trip Leaders, Assistant Guides and Trainees)
  • Office Manager

Canyoning guides

Job details:

  • Multiple Assistant Guide and Trip Leader positions available, starting in October and November 2026
  • Season runs through to the end of April 2027
  • Casual and part-time opportunities available for Assistant Guides
  • Rotating roster which includes weekends and public holidays
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
  • Comprehensive pre-season and ongoing in-house training
  • Duties include guiding, teaching, driving, equipment maintenance, and operational support
  • Position based in Motueka
  • Water taxi rides to work included!

Requirements:

Before applying for a job you must be able to tick most of the following boxes:

–provide cover letter, CV, Applicant details form, and relevant logbooks (rock, water, ropes)–

    • Plenty of personal and professional canyoning experience
    • Assistant Guides: at least NZOIA Canyon Leader (or overseas equivalent), or strong commitment to obtaining itCanyoning guides New Zealand
    • Trip Leaders: NZOIA Canyon 1, or Canyon 2 qualification (or overseas equivalent)
    • Trip Leaders: Minimum one season of canyon guiding experience
    • Current Outdoor First Aid certificate (or higher)
    • Clean NZ driver’s licence or ability to convert an overseas licence
    • Passenger Endorsement for Trip Leaders
    • Ability to connect with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
    • Passion for sustainable and regenerative tourism
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Fluent written and spoken English
    • Honest, trustworthy and reliable
    • Strong work ethic

Office Manager

Job details:

  • Position starts in November 2026
  • Position ends at the end of April 2027 (subject to season demand)
  • Competitive pay based on experience and performance
  • Comprehensive pre-season and ongoing training
  • Duties include bookings management, customer service, marketing, social media, CRM management, email enquiries, and lead generation
  • Position based in Motueka

Requirements:

  • Marketing superstar with experience in content creation, social media, and CRM systems
  • Minimum two years’ experience in office administration, tourism, customer service, or marketing
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clean New Zealand or international driver’s licence (Passenger Endorsement is a bonus)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Honest, trustworthy and reliable
  • Strong work ethic
